This car originally
shown at the 1951 Earles Court exhibition was constructed
for Lady Docker. Fully gold plated with originally 7000 gold
stars along the body . Designed by Osmond Rivers and based
on the Daimler DE36. The crystal picnic fitting were by Cartier
of Bond Street and the luggage which I gather is still with
the car is black crocodile skin with gold fittings. The
production costs of the car amounted to £8500 which
in 1951 was unheard of. The car attracted so much publicity
that it made Daimler a household name. This car is for sale
at $225,000 Please contact this site for details. |
